Polyflash, Polycarbonate Blast Media
Polyflash, Polycarbonate Deflashing Media – (approx. 30 Barcol Hardness)
Mac’Ants Polyflash Polycarbonate Plastic Media is a specially formulated polycarbonate thermoplastic media.
Produced from virgin PC or prime recycled product, the media, is extruded and pelletised into a cylinder or cube shapes in a range of sizes with exceptionally tight dimensional tolerances.
Ideal at very low temperatures as low as -120 degrees C, as it will not shatter like other medias, and provide and optimum lifespan and consistant deflashing performance throughout its operational range. It is not used for cleaning as the granulated medias but mainly for cryogenic deflashing or deburring. It can be also used at aimbient temperatures, for deflashing, but its main usage is cryogenic deflashing of Butyl Rubber, EPDM, PTFE, Neoprene gaskets and O rings through to plastic and aluminium diecast products.
The cryogenic grade is creatively manufactured to give a high density and long lasting media when used in cryogenic shot blasting machines, and is again available in a variety of colours to suit your cryogenic requirements. Operationally function at impact energies created by blast wheel speeds from 7,000 to 20,000 rpm.
This media is used in a very specific and specialised market such as:
- Rubber and Elastomer moulding deflashing
- Aluminium diecast deflashing
- Deflashing or deburring in cryogenic conditions
