Avialite Type III – Melamine Plastic Blast Media (4 Moh; 64-72 Barcol Hardness)

Avialite Type III – Melamine Plastic Blast Media is the most aggressive and hardest of the thermoset plastic medias, therefore it has to be chosen wisely  to avoid potential damage to delicate substrates. Manufactured from fully cured recycled amino mouldings.

Avialite Type III – Melamine Plastic Blast Medias can be used in wet or dry blasting environments and is part of the plastic media group which also includes Mac’Ants Products Avialite Type II and Avialite Type V.

The material allows the controlled removal of surface coatings, paint, dirt, flash and bur from a variety of substrates, and at the correct blasting pressures and conditions without damaging or peening the substrate. Can achieve at least as high as x 6 recycle usages of the plastic media.

This is due to the random ‘blocky / angular’ shape of the particle and its thermoset qualities which will not shatter on impact and will rather wear down.

Optimum performance is gained at relatively low operating pressures – typically 15-40 psi (1-3 bar) – lower than is used  for many other blasting media, hence offers environmental solutions with  regard to re use of the media, lower air consumption, power and the ability to replace the use of hazardous chemical strippers.

All types of media are manufactured to aviation (Rolls Royce CSS227) and Military (Mil-P-85891A) specifications for sieving and hardness , as such can be used in such industries as;
