Bead & Shot Peening

This is a controlled process and requires the use of a blast intensity measure, typically this will mean the use of an Almen Block and Test Strip. Once the peening process has been conducted, with a specified angle and pressure & media flow rate the deflection on the test strip is measured. Correlate this back with the strip details and you can interpret / quantify the intensity of the peening process.

This process is used extensively in the following areas;

The use of a peening process significantly improves the fatigue stress capability of a diverse range of metal substrates.
