Vibratory and Mass Finishing
For precision finishing of predominantly metal surfaces, the use of vibratory or mass finishing technology permits even, uniform and controlled surface finishing. The vibratory finishing system utilises a dry or aqueous environment where components are conveyed via vibration through the process.
The media are ceramic or polymer-based shapes and chips, typically triangular or cylindrical, with differing compositions, but also include an element of an abrasive particle, typically aluminium oxide. The ceramic (clay) or plastic is eroded by the vibration and exposes new abrasive particles to conduct the finishing of the components.
