Open Nozzle Blasting

Open Nozzle Blasting is the generic blast and discard operation.  apresurre blast machine and blasts using everything from Expendable Abrasives like COpper and Coal Slag to  Glass Grits and Garnet, all the way down to the now illegal use of sand.

When an object is too large to go in a blastroom and contain the dust and media its often the case that open nozzle blasting is used. Care has to be taken as to where this is done as clean up of spent media and waste from the process is essential. Open nozzle blasting over water courses has been outlawed and special care again must be taken not to contmainated water courses and drains. Soda blasting can often be seen as a solution but it too has contaminants from the removed materials and excess depsotis of soda will block drains and water courses.
