From double hull inspection to corrosion removal from hulls and superstructures, we have a solution to suit centred on the use of conventional surface preparation techniques.  Open nozzle grit blasting to the outside of hulls using an expendable abrasive is the standard process for which we can supply equipment, media and services.  Newer technologies, such as wet or mist blasting, have seen our cyclone wet blast system being used extensively to offer a reduction in media consumption, alongside improvements in performance and reductions in dust, noise and waste. 

Within the confines of ballast tanks and double hull environments, or in personnel areas, the use of conventional grit blasting media and processes creates large-scale dust and media disposal issues and considerations.  Here, the use of plastic media stripping permits rapid coating removal at low pressure and easily facilitates hull inspection or NDT with modern surface-tolerant protective coatings then used to enable the double hull chamber or ballast tank to be quickly and effectively re-coated.  Reducing dust levels, disposal considerations and improving the conditions for paint/coating adherence are thus key benefits.
