Since the foundation of the business in the early 1970's this has been the pivotal focus. The re alignment of the business into distinct operating divisions sees the responsibility for the manufacture, processing and sales of traditional 'Hard' abrasives through this division.

The Fused Alumina sector of the division deals with minerals that are mined, fused and processed from stringently controlled plants. The UK operation sees a processing function and ongoing chemical and physical analysis. A by product of this processing see the manufacture of some of the lower grade secondary aluminas and traditional 'reclaim' equivalents.

Silicon Carbides are a truly unique material in terms of thermal stability, hardness and appearance and have a varied industrial use from Bonded & coated Abrasives through to Surface Finishing and Slip Resistant Coatings. With materials coming into the division in both crude and grain form we process and repack products from our supplying fusion plants.

Glass Beads offer a prismatic characteristic which makes their use in reflective materials of paramount importance. These can be used in reflective materials from Safety Wear to Signage and critically in the Road Marking Industry. As an appointed UK Distributor of one of the worlds largest manufacturers Sovitec, we are pleased to offer impact beads as well as the reflective materials for surface finishing applications.

Metallic Abrasives are an ever popular sector, we are proud to be associated with Ilardyua and the Sigma Abrasives brand of premium quality Carbon Steel Shots and Grits from South Africa. In late 2007 having secured the UK Distributorship for this product we are wholly confident in the ongoing quality and capacity of this product and manufacturing plant. Couple these products together with Stainless Steel Shot in both Chrome and Chrome Nickel forms and Chrome Stainless Steel Cut Wire Pellets and the portfolio of products becomes ever more complete. With a trained Sales force capable of conducting media and wheel machine checks and audits we are well placed to serve the Shot and Grit sector of this market. Expendable Abrasives, are traditional blast and discard products, with greater emphasis on re using abrasive medias these are becoming less popular. There are circumstances where price dictates that these are the only products that can be used.

For exceptionally gentle abrasive application and uses in some homecare products together with spill absorbency the Vegetable Range of products fits the bill.
